Research Interests

Our main focus has been on genomics and genetic breeding of vegetable crops. To promote the dissection of important and complex agronomic traits and molecular design breeding of vegetable crops, the laboratory is currently undertaking the following studies:

1. Genomic dissection, evolutionary and comparative genomics of horticultural crops. Population structure and selection/domestication analysis of major vegetable crop populations;

2. Gene mining and functional dissection of complex/important horticultural traits in vegetable crops;

3. Develop research tools/pipelines and build databases/platforms of multi-omics big data analysis for molecular breeding of vegetable crops;

4. Our research focuses on Brassica crops such as cabbage/broccoli and Solanaceae crops such as pepper.
